The jingle of the glass jars make her happiest sound.

She smiles sweetly at the crystal ring each time the top is tilted.

From her counter by the door, she watches as they wander up and down the aisle…

eyes wide and overwhelmed by the tempting treats

stacked on either side.

Each scene is similar…pleading, promising, and negotiation.

But the finale is always fair.
