I think it was a last-minute development, considering both Amazon and LDD HAD the bag listed for sale and then took it down within a couple hours of the announcement being made. The way I understand it is that a retailer/etailer has to pay a certain amount of $$ to the company to get an exclusive run of a product made by that company, and with the bags unexpectedly coming in super-early, all being revealed the next day, and shipping the day after, there wasn't a lot of time for the retailer to decide if they wanted to pay to do an exclusive run of anything. And then, with all the crazy buzz of everyone coveting the LT BRB, a company decided to go ahead and swoop in on it in the hopes that they could make a great deal of profit on that particular highly coveted product. It wasn't technically "last-minute" since the retailer only had about two days to decide, thus no early announcement could possibly be made... But it is disconcerting that I either have to order from a company I know next-to-nothing about aside from shady listing practices (IE, the bogus "retail" prices) or not get the bag in time (or possibly at all, for that matter) for the purpose I "needed" it for in the first place.
