I purchased a felt Thanksgiving Countdown calendar from Pottery Barn Kids on clearance last year. It has pockets for up to 30 days (because you never know when Thanksgiving is going to fall). Each day in November, I write down something my pre-schooler is thankful for and we slip it in the pocket for that day. On Thanksgiving, we will read all the things we thought of to be thankful for this month (starting with being thankful for the Giants winning the World Series on Nov. 1st!!! Ok, that one was a little shallow, but we waited a long time for that. )

I think you totally could! It's just felt. A few appliqués from the craft store could save you some time. You might even be able to do a no-sew version with glue. However, I don't think I've done anything even marginally crafty since I was a Brownie (pre-Girl Scout), so I took the easy way out.

I don't see myself making one in the near future either. But I would like to! If I found one in like this in a store I'd definitely buy it! Until then I'll save the idea for a rainy day. Great idea!

We do a countdown calendar in August until 1st day of school. Makes us really enjoy the last few days of summer vacation and get excited for the school year. Also have felt calendars to count down to Halloween and Christmas - have never seen one for Thanksgiving until now.
